Sodexo has signed a food services contract with Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, the only independent hospital in the City of London.
The £1.1m agreement with the UK’s largest healthcare charity will see Sodexo provide patient and staff dining for the newly opened 55-bed hospital over the next 18 months.
It marks an extension of Sodexo’s 15-year-old partnership with Nuffield Health, which began in 2007.
Menus will focus on local British ingredients, with all crockery produced by Churchills in the north of England. Patients will be invited to use ‘dine as you wish’ ordering services, which will bring food to rooms and list relevant nutritional information for each dish.
Philip Leigh, CEO of healthcare at Sodexo UK & Ireland, said: “We are proud of our partnership with Nuffield Health and delighted to be chosen as their catering partner for this new hospital. We look forward to working alongside them as they work towards their goal to become London’s most trusted independent hospital.”
Contract catering company Sodexo was founded in Marseille in 1966 and operates in 55 countries with 412,000 employees.
