Foodservice supplier Santa Maria has introduced a new online recipe hub and brochure dedicated to the popular Mexican snack nachos with the aim of giving operators inspiration to help elevate their nacho offering.
With the increasing trend among consumers to try Mexican food when dining out, Santa Maria’s free online information hub aims to enable operators to create elevated food experiences.
Inspired by global flavours, the website includes a range of 10 nacho recipes including sunshine nachos (pictured above) and nacho crispy chicken. All recipes follow a three-step formula of base, toppings, and garnish, making them easy for operators to create in kitchens.
Santa Maria’s taste creator, Barnaby MacAdam, said the crispy tortilla chip’s fun and colourful visuals appeal to consumers, while its popularity with operators is due to its versatility, relative ease to prep in the kitchen, and the “additional revenue opportunity” the snack offers.
He added nachos “typically represent good value to the consumer whilst at the same time being affordable to create in the kitchen”.
MacAdam said the recipe combinations bring “bang-on flavours and quality to the table” giving operators’ greater justification to place them at a higher price point on the menu, which can help to improve profit margins.
