Richard Mayne has been appointed general manager of Carlson Rezidor's luxury, 136-bedroom G&V Royal Mile hotel on top of the same position at the company's Radisson Blu Edinburgh hotel.
Mayne, who last month was named general manager of the year of Carlson Rezidor's EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) operations, is now cluster general manager across both hotels.
He replaces Martin Scott, who recently left the hotel after his appointment one year ago to oversee the completion of the hotel's extensive refurbishment. Scott is now listed as the owner and managing director of Of One Mind and Ishka Edinburgh, a Scottish-Mediterranean restaurant and cocktail bar that opened in May this year.
Mayne, a Northern Irishman with 25 year's hotel industry experience, has overseen "positive and sustained growth" at the 238-bedroom Radisson Blu since being appointed in July 2015. His previous experience includes as regional managing director at Macdonald Holyrood hotel and general manager at the Westerwood and Millennium hotels in Glasgow.
Mayne said: "I am very proud to be appointed as cluster general manager for Radisson Blu Edinburgh and G&V Edinburgh. Located within five minutes' walk of each other in the historic Old Town, both hotels reflect the quality of choice and exceptional guest experience offered to the discerning traveller and restaurant goer in Scotland's capital."
