The Chancellor will deliver a speech at the House of Commons this afternoon following a review of public finances.
Rachel Reeves is set to speak at the House of Commons this afternoon to outline Labour’s plans following its review of government finances.
The Chancellor posted on X: “The Conservatives left us with the worst inheritance since the Second World War. Today I will set out how this new Labour government will fix the foundations of our economy, so we can rebuild Britain and make every part of our country better off.”
Sky News reported this would involve the uncovering of a £20b black hole in public spending.
Reeves is expected to announce the date of this year’s Autumn Budget as well as plans for public sector cuts, including the potential sale of unused government sites, according to the Telegraph.
Her speech is due to take place around 3pm today.
