Queens Hotels Deutschland sells four venues to Mark Hotels of Israel
Queens Hotels Deutschland has sold a group of four hotels in Germany to Mark Hotels, the Israeli hotel group, for an undisclosed sum. The deal comprises of the 142-room Best Western Hotel Kassel in Kassel, the 82-room Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Dusseldorf, and the 85-room Eurogarden Hotel and 116-room Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Cologne. Mark Hotels has also acquired the 198-room Treff Hansa Hotel near Dusseldorf from GA Holding. Property agent Christie & Co handled both sales.

 

Marriott plans upscale hotel in Xi'an, China
Marriott International has unveiled plans to open an "upscale" hotel in Xi'an, China, in 2011 after signing a long-term management agreement with property firm Shaanxi Chang'An Construction & Investment Development. When opened, the 315-room Xi'an Marriott Hotel will be part of the Chang'An Metropolis Center on Nanguan Zhengjie, near the South Ancient City Gate in Xi'an's central business district.

 

Hilton opens 30-storey hotel in San Diego
Hilton Hotels Corporation has opened the doors on the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. The 30-storey, 1,190 room hotel is situated on nearly 13 acres of seaside land owned by the Port of San Diego, and was designed by Portman and Associates. The property is owned by One Park Boulevard, a joint venture between Hilton Hotels Corporation and ING Clarion Partners, a property advisory firm, and operated by Hilton Management. Its interior boasts 165,000 square feet of meeting and event space, restaurants, a 7,300 square-foot health club and spa, a 2,400-square-foot business centre and San Diego's first saltwater hotel swimming pool.

 

IHG signs deal to build new Crowne Plaza in Oman
The Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed an agreement to build a new hotel in the coastal Omani city of Duqm. The Crowne Plaza Duqm Resort will be the group's sixth hotel project in Oman and will have 228 rooms, including 11 executive suites and six smaller suites. The resort is scheduled to open in 2011 and comes at a time when Oman is redeveloping the tourism facilities at Duqm.
