Chef Nick Nairn thanks emergency services after 'terrible' restaurant fire

Chef Nick Nairn (pictured right) has thanked the emergency services after firefighters attended to a blaze at his restaurant near Stirling on Saturday (28 August).

Fire crews were called Nick’s on Henderson Street in Bridge of Allan at 8.17pm. Six fire engines and one support vehicle were sent to the scene. Two people were treated by Scottish Ambulance Service but no one was seriously injured.

Nairn tweeted that all customers and staff were unhurt in the ‘terrible’ fire, adding: “Huge respect and thanks fo the emergency services who were incredible.”

He tweeted that he was still processing the “enormity” of the fire and was “overwhelmed by the love” and support shown from well-wishers.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.17pm on Saturday 28 August to reports of a building on fire at Henderson Street, Bridge of Allan.

“Operations Control mobilised six appliances and one height vehicle and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a commercial property.

“Two casualties were in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”

Nairn runs Nick Nairn Enterprises with his wife Julia (pictured above, left). The business also includes the Kailyard by Nick Nairn restaurant at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Dunblane.
