Michelle Whittemore, director of marketing communications at Pan Pacific London, has been appointed non-executive board member of the Eastern City Business Improvement District (EC BID).
The EC BID was launched in 2022 to promote the City of London and includes representatives from investment management company St James Place, Brookfield Properties and Metro Bank PLC. Accommodation BIDs have also been established in Manchester and Liverpool.
Whittemore has over 20 years’ experience in marketing and communications within luxury hospitality, having worked in properties such as the Corinthia London, Nira Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International.
She joined Pan Pacific in 2019 and was heavily involved in launching the group’s first European property in London in 2021.
Whittemore also partnered with EC BID and MTArt Agency to create a Christmas tree installation in front of the hotel at One Bishopsgate Plaza.
She said: “I am incredibly excited to be joining the EC BID Board. Hospitality is such an important segment within the Square Mile and a major attraction for local residents, home county visitors and international travellers alike. I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members to position the Eastern City as a place to discover a different side of London.”
Kate Hart, chief executive of the EC BID, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to have Michelle join our board. Her previous experience as a member of our marketing and communications steering group, together with her vast knowledge and understanding of the footprint and the hospitality industry, will enhance and enrich the board’s overall governance and objectives.”
