M&B brings Miller & Carter steakhouse to Durham's Milburngate

Steakhouse brand Miller & Carter from pub and restaurant operator Mitchells & Butler (M&B) has become the latest signing for Durham City development Milburngate.

Hospitality and leisure businesses already confirmed for the mixed-use scheme include Pitcher & Piano, a 92-bedroom Premier Inn hotel that includes its new concept restaurant Bar + Block, and an Everyman boutique cinema.

The new M&B venture is expected to generate around 30 new jobs for the area. Set across two floors, including a mezzane, the 5,200 sq ft restaurant will overlook the city's riverside, cathedral and castle.

Developers Arlington Real Estate and Richardsons Capital are also in talks with other premium operators to pre-let the remaining units within phase one of the retail and leisure element at Milburngate.

More than 1,000 new jobs are expected to be created upon completion of Milburngate, which aims to enhance the leisure, business and residential opportunities in the area.
