The terrorist attacks on London Bridge and Borough Market early last month failed to dent London hotel room rates during June, according to preliminary data from STR.
Average daily rate (ADR) and revenue per available room climbed 5.5% to £162.51 and by 5.1% to £136.72 respectively, year-on-year during June.
The capital did experience a moderate decline in occupancy immediately after the attack on 3 June, during which eight people died and 48 were injured. However, overall across the month, the figure was virtually flat, with a 0.4% drop to 84.1%.
STR analysts credited ADR growth toward the end of the month to a shift in the Eid Mubarak holiday from July in 2016 to June this year, with the capital busy with a high number of visitors from the Middle East.
The full June 2017 results from STR will be published at the end of the month.
