Hotel occupancy levels fell marginally in December alongside a rise in room rates, according to provisional figures published by hotel data company STR.
The occupancy rate dropped by 1% to 81.2%, while average daily rate (ADR) and revenue per available room (revpar) increased by 2.6% to £159.48 and 1.5% to £129.44 respectively.
The ADR and revpar rates are the highest for any December in STR’s London database.
While there was a slight decline in occupancy, STR analysts highlighted that the Christmas festivities helped London hotels enjoy nine nights with an occupancy rate of 90% and higher.
STR will publish its full December results later this month.
