L'Autre Pied to close after a decade in business

L'Autre Pied restaurant in London Marylebone is closing on 9 September after 10 years in business.

The Blandford Street restaurant opened in 2007 led by Marcus Eaves, Shane Osborn and David Moore, and won a Michelin star in 2009.

Moore explained that the restaurant was closing to allow him and his team to pursue other opportunities, including potentially creating a restaurant space in the basement next door to Pied à Terre. He will also consult on Noizé, the French restaurant Mathieu Germond, former co-owner and restaurant manager of Pied á Terre, is opening at the former Dabbous site in London Fitzrovia.

Moore said: "The reason we're closing is we've had an amazing opportunity to do other things. Having had 10 years in Marylebone we're looking at other opportunities. L'Autre Pied is going to cease to exist, we're going to move forward, but we've got some ideas for Pied a Terre."

Eaves moved across to become head chef of sister restaurant Pied à Terre in 2015, followed by his successor Andy McFadden that same year, who was replaced by Graham Long. Osborn left the restaurant in 2012 to move to Hong Kong. The restaurant lost its Michelin star in 2016. Asimakis Chaniotis is the restaurant's current head chef.
