Udon noodle brand Koya is opening a new venture called Koya Ko on London’s Broadway Market in early September.
The restaurant chain was co-founded by John Devitt and Shuko Oda, and the new opening marks 11 years after the launch of their first site on Soho’s Frith Street.
Koya Ko is inspired by the train station noodle bars found in Japan and will be a more casual ‘little sister’ to the Soho and City sites, the latter of which opened in Bloomberg Arcade in 2017.
The venue will operate as both a takeaway and a no-reservations udon bar, with a standing counter for up to eight guests, 15 covers for seated indoor dining and 25 covers for outdoor dining.
It will offer a fun, revamped take on Koya’s udon and donburi dishes developed by Oda exclusively for the new restaurant, using seasonal produce from predominantly UK suppliers.
Koya Ko will open at 12 Broadway Market Mews between Arabica and La Bouche.
