Kirk and Keeley Haworth to relocate Plates

Kirk and Keeley Haworth have announced plans to relocate their plant-based Plates concept to an as yet undisclosed London location

Posting on Instagram, the siblings said: “2022 was a wonderful year collaborating with @untitled_bar_ldn in Dalston and welcoming so many of you to dine with us, but now is the time to focus on settling into a new multifunctional restaurant & food studio that is fully ours.

“The restaurant will be closed for the next few months whilst we begin this process. Our food studio and events side of the business remains open.

“The restaurant will be returning asap with the same ambition to bring you the best plant-based dining experience you’ve ever had (in a new London location).”

Following a series of pop-ups and residencies, Plates opened at Untitled bar in Dalston, east London, nearly five years ago. The concept – which serves dishes high in nutritional value without dairy, red meat, gluten or refined sugar – was inspired by head chef Kirk's plant-based diet, which he adopted to help improve the symptoms he experienced from having Lyme disease, a tick-borne infection.

He was trained by his father, Nigel Haworth (previously chef-patron of the Michelin-starred Northcote in Langho, Lancashire), and worked under Phil Howard at the two-Michelin-starred Square and Pied à Terre under Shane Osborn in London, as well as Marque and Quay in Sydney, Australia.
