Kenny Tutt has announced the closure of his Bayside Social restaurant on Worthing seafront in Sussex due to the impact of rising costs.
Posting on social media, Tutt said the venue’s last service will be on 16 April but his nearby Pitch restaurant will remain open.
“We have loved being at this location on the beach, but with rising costs & the long-lasting effects of Covid on hospitality businesses, we’ve made the decision to concentrate on our other site, Pitch in Worthing, and we’re really excited for what’s yet to come,” he said.
“A huge thank you to our customers – we look forward to seeing many of you here before we close, and hopefully at our other restaurants in the future.”
The 2018 MasterChef winner opened Bayside Social in 2021. The 40-cover, glass-fronted restaurant with beach views and a terrace was inspired by modern beach clubs on Miami's South Beach. Tutt also operates Patty Guy, a burger bar at Brighton’s Shelter Hall, which replaced Ox Block.
