Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is expanding his River Cottage brand with the launch of a new restaurant in Plymouth.
The celebrity chef, who also operates the River Cottage farm and cookery school and its Canteen and Deli in Axminster, Devon, will open the new restaurant at Plymouth's Royal William Yard development in September.
The 120-seat restaurant will be housed in the Brewhouse building overlooking the Plymouth Sound. It will be one of three restaurants in the mixed-use development, which will also include Prezzo and Seco Lounge.
River Cottage Plymouth will aim to source 90% of its food within a 50-mile radius of the city.
Fearnley-Whittingstall commented: "We hope to promote a better understanding of the nature and origins of what we eat, and in local terms, to celebrate and contribute to the vibrancy of the local food community in Plymouth.
"The city and region have a strong fishing and market garden heritage, and I am looking forward to sourcing and creating some fantastic food in a wonderful location."
