Frogmore has been granted planning permission to build a hotel on the former Lewisham and Southwark College site in London.
The UK real estate fund manager intends to build a 274-bedroom, mid-market hotel with a ground floor restaurant at the site. A hotel operator has not yet been confirmed.
Frogmore owns the Notting Hill Gate estate, Stratford Shopping Centre, and Weston House in Holborn, and formerly owned the D&D-operated South Place hotel.
There are several hotel projects under construction in Southwark, including the Dixon hotel, set to open in August under Marriott's Autograph Collection; a third Hoxton hotel; the 161-bedroom Bankside hotel opening in October; and a £28m 218-bedroom aparthotel from Marlin Apartments. However, the area still has one of the lowest levels of hotel bedroom supply among key central London boroughs.
