Singapore-based hospitality investor Fragrance Group has acquired the Grand Atlantic Hotel in Weston-super-Mare from Coast & Country Hotels for an undisclosed sum.
RBH Hospitality Management, which operates ten other Fragrance-owned hotels, has been appointed to operate the 72-bedroom Victorian property on the town seafront.
It comes after the Coast and Country Hotel Collection put 18 properties up for sale in May.
Jeremy Jones, head of hotel brokerage at Christie & Co, who acted for the seller, said: “We are delighted to announce the Grand Atlantic, Weston-super-Mare will be joining Fragrance Group’s growing list of leisure and city centre-based UK hotels.
“The property is one of the 33 leisure-focused hotels that we are currently marketing on behalf of Coast & Country, which have received very strong interest to date. Positioned in leading resort and leisure destinations across England, Scotland and Wales, the portfolio represents some of the best-known hospitality businesses in their respective markets. A number of these assets remain available, and we invite any interested parties to get in touch.”
Martin Rogers, representing Fragrance Group, added: “The Grand Atlantic Hotel is a wonderful addition to Fragrance Group’s growing portfolio, and we are delighted to be able to continue investing in the UK regional markets, in particular seaside destinations.”
The Fragrance Group’s portfolio includes the St Chads, Imperial and Lyndene hotels in Blackpool; the Crown hotel in Harrogate; the Aloft Liverpool hotel; and the Townhouse hotel in Manchester.
In October, the group acquired the Marine Hotel in Devon off a guide price of £1.5m.
