Francisco Macedo steps down as Bovey Castle GM

Francisco Macedo has stepped down from his role as general manager of Bovey Castle with immediate effect for "personal reasons".

Macedo was promoted to the role at the five-red-AA-star, 60-bedroom hotel in Devon's Dartmoor National Park just last year, following the promotion of Greg Fehler to resort director.

Macedo joined the property, which is owned and operated by the Eden Hotel Collection, in 2015 as hotel manager. His LinkedIn profile says he is "now looking for the next challenge".

Shortly after his promotion, Fehler was further promoted to a director position with the Eden Hotel Collection. A replacement general manager has not yet been appointed.

Mark Chambers, managing director of the Eden Hotel Collection, said: "We are sad to bid farewell to Francisco, who has helped shape the hotel during its recent transformation. Bovey Castle's former resort director, Greg Fehler, has stepped back in to head up the hotel's senior management team until an outstanding new general manager is found."

The Eden Hotel Collection acquired Bovey Castle from property investment company Delancey in 2014 and embarked on an extensive £10m investment at the hotel. Set in 275 acres of countryside, the flagship property has 60 bedrooms, 22 lodges, an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts and an Elan Spa.
