Former Polpo managing director Scott Macdonald has joined Sourced Market as the business looks to double in size.
The hybrid deli and retail brand has raised £872,000 through Crowdcube and has plans to double its estate to eight sites. It previously raised £1m on the same platform in 2016.
Macdonald left Polpo in October 2018, before the business entered a Company Voluntary Agreement as a result of a large tax bill and a decline in performance.
Prior to Polpo he was managing director at Bills, where he was part of the team that grew the business from four to 72 sites.
Sourced Market chief executive Ben O'Brien said: "We are very excited that Sourced Market is now at the size and stage that we can bring on someone of Scott's calibre and experience to help the business move forwards with greater confidence and direction."
