Exclusive Collection has bought Ansty Hall, a 62-bedroom hotel in North Warwickshire from Macdonald Hotels.
Ansty Hall becomes the seventh country-house hotel in Exclusive Collection’s portfolio. The acquisition reflects demand from Exclusive’s meetings and event clients for a central England location. It will also play host to leisure guests, weddings and other private celebrations.
Danny Pecorelli, MD of Exclusive Collection, comments: “It’s been a long-term ambition to extend our reach towards the Midlands and Ansty Hall fits nicely with the collection through its significant history and stunning setting.
“We will be embedding B-Corp standards and our core values into the hotel and its people, gently bringing the hotel in line with the Exclusive Collection brand. While each of our properties has its own voice and history, they’re all united by our purpose to create happiness in amazing places, with a real emphasis on using our business as a force for good. We’re excited to bring this proposition to the Midlands.”
The Exclusive Collection owns eight properties, six of which are hotels: Pennyhill Park in Surrey, South Lodge in West Sussex, Lainston House in Winchester, the Manor House Hotel in Chippenham, Royal Berkshire Hotel near Ascot, Fanhams Hall Hotel in Hertfordshire and the Castle Inn in Castle Combe in the Cotswolds.
In its financial results for 2021/22 Exclusive Collection had recognised the surge in demand for weddings and events, crediting its role in revenue increases for the period.
Macdonald Hotels operates a portfolio of properties across the UK and Spain. In 2019 it sold 27 properties to a private equity investor.
Henry Jackson, head of Hotel Agency at Knight Frank, added: “We are delighted to have concluded this confidential sale on behalf of Macdonald Hotels to Exclusive Collection and wish Danny and his team the very best with their future plans.”
