The Ethical Butcher, an e-commerce site selling ethically sourced meats, has launched.
Founders Farshad Kazemian and Glen Burrows aim to educate consumers and suppliers in a way of producing food that goes beyond simply being sustainable.
Kazemian and Burrows will be working with producers who focus on rebuilding ecosystems and run carbon negative farms, meaning that they lock away more CO2 and methane than is emitted.
All suppliers across each category of meat, including beef, lamb, poultry and game, must fulfil a strict standard of ethics and will be using methods such as organic, silvopasture systems and holistic (grazing) management methods.
All packaging materials used to transport the meat are recyclable, down to the vacuum packs, which are fully compostable and are the first of their kind to be used in Europe.
