The contract caterer said it is aiming to achieve B Corp certification.
BM Caterers has appointed Elisabeth Ortiz Kuefler as ESG project manager, a newly-created role for the contract caterer.
She will lead the team’s sustainability agenda as BM Caterers embarks on its B Corp certification journey, as well as focus on hosting ESG events and charitable initiatives with employees.
Kuefler will also be involved in conducting audits to improve BM’s sustainability practices and offering guidance to clients.
She holds a master’s in environmental science and policy and will be reporting into Antony Prentice, joint managing director at BM Caterers.
Prentice said: “This is a significant move for BM. Whilst we have been at the forefront of ESG activity in our sector for quite some time, we believe there is a lot we and the rest of the sector can do to keep driving positive change for the communities we operate in and the wider world.
“ESG is naturally embedded in everything that we do but we are incredibly excited to welcome Elisabeth to the as she will give us additional expertise to real drive through some brilliant initiatives we are looking to develop.”
BM Caterers (formerly Bartlett Mitchell) was founded in 2000 by Wendy Bartlett and Ian Mitchell as an independent, boutique caterer.
It was acquired by parent company Westbury Street Holdings in 2020.
