Dukes London appoints Paul Skinner from the Jumeirah Carlton Tower as GM

Paul Skinner, operations director at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower, is to join Dukes London as general manager in September.

He will join the hotel to replace Debrah Dhugga who is leaving the five-red-AA-star, 87-bedroom hotel after 10 years as managing director to join the Apartment Group, based in the north-east of England.

Skinner has worked at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower for just over three years, having previously worked at the Langham London and the Athenaeum Hotel & Residences. The Jumeirah Carlton Tower is due to close in September for a total renovation which is expected to take nearly 12 months. Skinner is among more than 300 staff to be made redundant.

In his new role, Skinner will report to Seven Tides, the Dubai-based owning company of the hotel.

He said he is "delighted" to join Dukes London. "The hotel is a prestigious establishment and has a long tradition of providing luxury service and hospitality for its customers," he explained. "It is an honour to be appointed as the general manager, and I very much look forward to commencing my position in September".

Bin Sulayem, chief executive of Dukes London, added: "The team and I are delighted to welcome Paul to the Dukes family. I'm sure that Paul will help Dukes London to maintain and enhance its reputation, delivering world-class service and exceptional guest experiences at the hotel".

Launched more than 110 years ago, the hotel features the Great British restaurant, Dukes bar and a private members' health club.
