Deltic raises over £35,000 for charity

Late-night bar and club operator Deltic Group has raised more than £35,000 for children's charity the Echo Trust.

For the seventh consecutive year, each of the Deltic Group's 57 venues asked customers to "give a kid a quid" throughout the festive period by donating spare change.

ATIK in Colchester was the biggest contributor, raising £2,855, followed by £2,372 from Unit 7 in Basildon and £1,868 from PRYZM in Birmingham.

Peter Marks, chief executive of the Deltic Group, said: “We’re delighted to continue to support the valuable work of the Echo Trust. It is an amazing charity which has raised over £2.5m since its founding, helping thousands of children in need of essential and life-saving medical equipment. We wouldn’t be able to make such a valuable donation without the generosity of our customers, and for that we are incredibly thankful.”

Kelly Young, trustee at the Echo Trust, added: “Without Deltic’s support we wouldn’t be able to carry out the vital work that we do. We are extremely grateful, and it is with huge thanks that we accept this donation.”

The Echo Trust was set up by the Deltic Group in 2002 with the aim of helping sick children and young adults in the UK by providing grants that enables the purchase of vital medical equipment.
