Dalata Hotel Group is set to develop a new Clayton hotel in the Tower 42 Estate in the City of London as it seeks to expand in the capital.
The 154-bedroom property is expected to open in the second half of 2028, subject to planning permission.
The all-electric building, complete with a restaurant, bar and gym, will be powered by heat pumps and is targeting BREEAM excellent accreditation.
Tower 42 is also home to Jason Atherton’s Michelin-starred City Social restaurant.
Dalata plans to operate the hotel through a 25-year operating lease subject to five-year rent reviews linked to the Consumer Price Index.
It will mark Dalata’s sixth London hotel once it opens.
Shane Casserly, deputy chief executive of Dalata Hotel Group, said: “We are excited to expand our footprint in London, with this transaction illustrating the flexibility of our business model as we deliver further growth through leasing, as well as acquisition and development.
“We are particularly pleased to have commenced a partnership with the Tower 42 Estate, which offers an unrivalled mix of uses in a best-in-class location. As part of our Vision 2030, London continues to be a key target city for Dalata, and we believe significant opportunity exists for both our Clayton and Maldron brands.”
Dalata Hotel Group was founded in 2007 and operates over 50 properties across the UK, Ireland and continental Europe.
The hotel group was included in The Caterer’s Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2024, which is currently taking submissions for 2025.
