Cow Hollow owners reveal brand expansion plans

The owners of the Cow Hollow hotel in Manchester have revealed plans to open a second property in the city.

Husband and wife team Muj and Amelia Rana, who launched the 16-bedroom Cow Hollow hotel in January in a former textile warehouse (pictured), have already started speaking to investors about opening a second, larger Cow Hollow hotel in the city's Spinningfields district, with further expansion outside Manchester also possible.

"We've already started speaking to investors about hotel number two, which would be roughly twice the size of this, 30 rooms or so, with a larger cocktail bar," said Muj, speaking to The Caterer. "It's just about finding the right building."

The design of the second property, and any subsequent Cow Hollow hotels, would have a similar "cool, west coast vibe", evoking the San Francisco neighbourhood the brand is named after, but would also take the building and area of each individual property into consideration.

Muj said they would consider opening a small restaurant in the second hotel or offer small bites in the bar area, but any F&B facilities would be outsourced to a restaurant group, "preferably a local one".

He said: "There are certain cities we have our eye on more than others if we were to expand out of Manchester. Edinburgh would certainly be top of the target list, then perhaps the Leeds to Birmingham corridor, and then down south inevitably, Oxford and Cambridge, some of the academic towns this would work quite well in, and there's always Brighton further down on the coast."
