Trendy Dutch hotel chain CitizenM is set to open a fourth London property in Victoria after demolishing the former Press Association offices.
The 226-room, 10-storey hotel is set to open at 292 Vauxhall Bridge Road in 2021, with construction of a new building due to commence in May 2020.
The demolition of Denison House will begin in November 2019 and the hotel will be built using CitizenM’s modular construction method; each of the rooms will be put together and furnished in an offsite factory and then moved to the site to be assembled.
Klaas van Lookeren Campagne, chief executive of CitizenM, said: “We are excited to have completed this transaction after securing planning consent in a prime location in Westminster. With three hotels already operating successfully in London, this new property will offer a fantastic addition to our existing portfolio and confirms our commitment to expand further in London’s most desirable neighbourhoods.”
The hotel’s interiors will be designed by Amsterdam-based Concrete and will feature Vitra furniture. Guest rooms will include king-sized beds, rain showers and large flat screen TVs.
The new hotel joins sister properties in Bankside, which opened in 2012, Tower of London (2016) and Shoreditch (2016).
CitizenM was advised by its retained agent in London, Kingly Partners.
