Cinnamon Kitchen to open at Battersea Power Station

Contemporary Indian restaurant group the Cinnamon Collection will open a third Cinnamon Kitchen at London's Battersea Power Station in November.

Following the opening of the brand's second Cinnamon Kitchen in Oxford next month, the restaurant will be the group's first venue to offer food and alcohol delivery to residents in the immediate area.

Battersea Power Station was originally built in 1930 and has been closed for more than 25 years. It is being redeveloped into restaurants, shops and accommodation, and will eventually house the new Apple headquarters in London. It will also house London's first art'otel, to be managed by PPHE Group.

The 120-cover, 4,700 sq ft Cinnamon Kitchen restaurant will include a feature bar on the ground floor, an open-plan kitchen, a semi-private chef's table and a private mezzanine dining room overlooking the restaurant seating an additional 20. There will also be an outdoor terrace with views of the Thames that seats 12.

Drawing inspiration from its urban backdrop, the interiors by DesignLSM will have a stripped back, industrial feel, with exposed brick walls, brass, timber and metal finishes as well as a muted palette of teal, ochre and grey.

Cinnamon Collection founder Vivek Singh said: "We have consciously decided to open new restaurants in historic buildings and locations and we are now thrilled to be opening the third Cinnamon Kitchen in the iconic Battersea Power Station later this year."

The first Cinnamon Kitchen opened on London's Devonshire Square in 2008.
