The Chemours Company, a global chemistry company that produces Teflon products, has opened the Chemours Discovery Hub on the University of Delaware’s Science, Technology and Advanced Research campus in the US.
The state-of-the-art facility houses more than 300 of the company’s researchers and scientists and more than 130 laboratories, including test kitchens and test devices for Teflon coating systems in cookware and bakeware.
At the centre, Chemours will deepen its research partnership with the University of Delaware and perform experiments alongside professors and students to develop new products, while the current regional laboratories focus to assist the coating factories.
Wilbert Broeksmit, global product manager Teflon Branded Coating, said: “We are very proud of what our colleagues in the US have done there in a very short period. We are pleased that knowledge is now bundled globally, which will surely lead to many further developments and new products. It gives us the opportunity at our regional locations to focus even more on the needs and concerns of our customers.”
