Chef Eats Out, in partnership with Udale Speciality Foods, is back by popular demand and heading to Tom Brown's Cornerstone in Hackney, London, on Wednesday 5 September.
Since opening in April this year, the debut restaurant from this Nathan Outlaw protégé has been what everyone is talking about, including The Times
Named after Brownâs favourite Arctic Monkeys song, the restaurant in Prince Edward Road has been designed by east London-based architect Holland Harvey.
The kitchen is at the centre of the 46-seat restaurant, with a counter bar seating 11. Key features include a 10-seater table made from 5,000-year-old oak salvaged from a river in Croatia, and a lounge area.
Originally from Cornwall, Brown worked for Outlaw for six years, starting at Outlaws at St Enodoc hotel in Rock, Cornwall, before moving to the Capital hotel in London in 2016, where he won a Michelin star.
There is no doubt that Brownâs cooking is heavily influenced by Outlaw, and he is adamant his style of simply executed food will not change with his new venture, telling The Caterer in an interview in May: âI love that confidence in the produce to say âlook, all this needs is that touch there and that is itâ. The balance, the flavour â" itâs so special and so unique.â
Brown picked up a coveted Acorn Award last year and will be appearing for the second time on BBC Twoâs *Great British Menu,*Â which begins later this month.
Tickets are priced at £55 for a six-course menu, including Cornerstone G&T and matched wine. Spaces are limited to just 40 places.
The event will begin at 12.30pm for welcome drinks courtesy of Cornish distillery the Wrecking Coast, followed by lunch and a tour of the kitchen. The event is expected to finish at 3.30pm.
"I am thrilled to be hosting Chef Eats Out in September," said Tom Brown. "We've been open for nearly four months now and have had amazing support from the industry.
"For the menu, I've selected six of Cornerstone's most popular dishes and personal favourites of mine. It's a real honour to cook for chefs who might not have visited us yet and those returning! I am very excited to showcase what we do to our guests and The Caterer."
