Knight Frank is marketing the hotel and 55-acre estate almost a year after it fell into administration.
The Hertfordshire estate home to the former Birch Cheshunt hotel is being remarketed off a guide price of £12.5m.
Knight Frank has been appointed to sell the 18th century manor house and estate, almost a year after it fell into administration and was originally put on the market.
The hotel previously traded as the De Vere Theobalds Estate hotel but relaunched as Birch Cheshunt in 2020.
It featured 140 bedrooms, two restaurants overseen by chef Robin Gill, as well as meetings and events spaces set in 55 acres of grounds.
However, the hotel closed along with its sister property, Birch Selsdon in south Croydon, in November 2023 with administrators blaming the collapse on “cash constraints”.
The Birch Cheshunt was originally overseen by Chris Penn, former managing director of the Ace Hotel London, and entrepreneur Chris King, both of whom left the business in 2022.
It was a joint venture between Penn and King’s management company, Performance Hotels, and real estate investment company Aprirose, which bought the property in 2018 and invested £8.5m into the site.
Henry Jackson, partner at Knight Frank, said the sale was "an exciting opportunity for buyers to acquire a premium asset with a strong history of success".
"The opportunity to redevelop or repurpose the estate opens a wealth of possibilities for future owners," said Jackson.
Knight Frank said the hotel offered a ‘blank canvas’ for potential buyers, with opportunities for further development.
The Birch Selsdon hotel was put up for sale in January this year.
