Asda Cafés across the UK will serve children hot and cold meals for just £1 amid concerns the cost-of-living crisis could drive more people into food poverty during the school summer holiday.
The offer will be available to all children aged 16 or under, with no minimum adult spend, any time of day, seven days a week. The supermarket giant will also provide free pouches of Ella’s Kitchen baby food.
A spokesperson for Asda said: “We know that families can find the summer holidays tough and our customers are telling us that this year more than ever, they’re concerned about holiday hunger. With that in mind, we are so pleased to be able children’s meals for just £1, with no minimum adult spend, to ensure that those who would normally rely on a school meal aren’t left without.”
The scheme has already been launched in Scotland and Northern Ireland, with England and Wales to follow from 25th July. The £1 meals will be available until 4 September.
