Privately-owned Arora Hotels has announced a move into the sporting sector with its acquisition of the Buckinghamshire Golf Club in Denham for an undisclosed sum.
The company, headed by founded Surinder Arora, said that it will use its luxury hospitality experience "to reinvigorate the club, providing a new and enhanced experience for its members".
The host of the Ladies European Tour, the club was sold in February last year to Buckingham Park Resort (Holdings), a subsidiary of Eagleresorts, having previously been owned by Japanese brewery Asahi Group Holdings for nearly 25 years.
In addition to offering golf on an 18-hole championship course designed by the late Ryder Cup player John Jacobs, the resort also caters for events and weddings within its Grade II-listed clubhouse and mansion house.
Sanjay Arora, director of the Arora Group, described Buckinghamshire Golf Club as "a stunning golf course with fantastic potential for future development".
He added: "Our team is hugely skilled in running luxury global brands and providing premium customer experiences, and we look forward to extending this expertise to the world of leisure and sports hospitality."
