Accent Catering Services has been awarded a £1.8m, three-year catering contract with the FitzWimarc School on Hockley Road in Rayleigh, Essex.
It beat five other tenders for the deal. The contract will run for three years from 1 June 2017 to 31 May 2020, with the possibility to extend for a further two years.
Accent Catering will provide catering services for the 1,590 students and over 200 teaching and support staff. The focus will be on creating new food concepts to cater for a wide range of tastes and dietary requirements.
It aims to introduce new healthy meals, using fresh, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients prepared on-site.
The FitzWimarc School is open for 195 days, 190 of which receive students. The contract offered covers the scope for the provision of all catering services within the school, which includes morning break, lunch, hospitality and free issue requirements.
Accent Catering Services has guaranteed value for money as a key objective.
The FitzWimarc School was founded in 1937 and provides 11-18 education in Rayleigh. The sixth form opened in September 2016 with year 12 and will extend to year 13 in 2017.
