Independent wholesaler Creed Foodservice has unveiled its new Food Innovation Centre, with Apic-Base recipe and menu management software, at Staverton in Gloucestershire.
The centre will be home to a new development kitchen, cooking workspace and meeting rooms. The facility is in addition to the company’s existing development kitchen and is available to Creed’s customers for menu and recipe development, training, product presentations and workshops, as well as taste tests.
The kit out was completed by Space Catering, and the demonstration kitchen features a Rational oven, stone-based deck oven, a Merrychef and a multi-zone induction hob. The Apic-Base cloud-based software captures food images, menus and recipe builds and stores them in an online photobook. It will be used by the company’s business development chefs, Rob Owen and Millie Morgan (pictured), when working with customers to develop new recipe and menu solutions.
Owen commented: “Creed’s business model is based on working in partnership with its customers – giving them the insights and practical solutions to help build their businesses. For many customers being able to get out of their kitchens and into a creative space to brainstorm new ideas, recipes and menus with our business development chefs is invaluable and it’s a service we offer that has grown in the last few years.”
