The Cantonese siu mei specialists are hoping to open two to three shops annually over the next few years.
Cantonese diner Three Uncles is set to open its largest site to date in London’s Ealing next month as it sets its eyes on 10 restaurants.
The 1,450 sq ft, 50-cover restaurant marks the group’s fifth site as it continues to target residential neighbourhoods.
The upcoming Three Uncles will take over the final unit in Ealing’s Filmworks, offering a glass-fronted dining room with an outdoor terrace.
It will serve its new 18-Districts menu, which will introduce chopped-to-order specials aligned with popular dishes in Hong Kong, such as chee cheong fun drizzled in sesame sauce, sweet soy and chilli; Three Uncles prawn toast; curry beef brisket on rice; and deep-fried custard buns.
Chong Yew, known as Uncle Lim, said: “We plan to grow slowly and carefully while maintaining quality with the aim of opening two to three shops annually with an ultimate goal of 10 sites.
“We also hope to beat our record week of 1,100 ducks sold in one week across all sites.”
Three Uncles currently operates takeaway kiosks and restaurants in Camden, Brixton Village, Liverpool Street and St Paul’s.
The Cantonese roast meat (siu mei), lo mein and dim sum restaurant was founded by Pui Sing, Cheong Yew and Mo Kwok in 2019, 20 years after the trio emigrated to the UK.
