Sodexo agrees seven-year contract extension with Abingdon School

Sodexo’s independent school catering arm has agreed a seven-year extension to its contract with Abingdon School near Oxford.

Independents by Sodexo has delivered catering services at the independent day and boarding school for 15 years, providing breakfast, lunch and supper for both the senior school, which has 1,000 students, and the 250 pupils at the prep school located a few miles away.

The team also provides hospitality for all events including sports teas.

Earlier this year it rolled out its Powering Performance programme for independent schools, which was developed with the British Nutrition Foundation, promoting ingredients around four pillars: sustain, focus, strength and replenish.

Steve Hawkins, managing director of Sodexo Schools, UK & Ireland said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed working and growing with the school over the last 15 years and are proud of all we have achieved together. This next contractual term brings with it some incredibly exciting times and we look forward to continuing to work in a strategic and trusted partnership.”
