Seren Collection pays off £600k coronavirus loans

The Seren Collection, which owns the Grove of Narbeth hotel, has announced it has paid off coronavirus support loans worth over £600,000.

The Welsh hospitality group took out a Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan (CBIL) with Barclays in spring 2020 when the pandemic began.

It said it used the funds to keep the business running, protect staff jobs and pay creditors and suppliers across its four venues.

Seren Collection said the loan was "instrumental" in helping the group reopen its hotel, restaurants, and café.

Neil Kedward, managing director at the Seren Collection, said: "Whilst it's horrible that some hospitality businesses were unable to survive, and many are still impacted, the loan scheme was crucial to our survival during incredibly uncertain times.

"All the team at Seren very much respect how government support allowed us to emerge largely unscathed from the crisis, for which we are extremely grateful.

"Repaying our CBILS loan feels like an important and necessary step to put this crisis behind us. We are now ready to continue our journey.'

Seren Collection also owns the Coast restaurant in Saundersfoot, the Beach House restaurant in Oxwich and the Kiosk Café at Copett Hall Beach.
