Brassica director charged with fraud

Dea McGill, a former director of Dundee's Brassica restaurant, has been charged with theft, embezzlement and fraud after the restaurant fell into administration last year.

Police Scotland confirmed a 50-year-old woman has been charged and said a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

The restaurant fell into administration having opened just a few months prior in the summer of 2018. Co-director Rami Sarraf has since reopened the site as Brasserie Ecosse.

More than 13,000 people signed a petition launched by Unite Union's Bryan Simpson last year calling on Brassica's owners to pay ex-employees unpaid tips and wages. Unite has since issued an apology over accusations made regarding Sarraf.
