Cora Pearl
The team behind Kitty Fisher's in London's Mayfair have opened their second restaurant, Cora Pearl at Henrietta Street, Covent Garden.
Cora Pearl is named after a celebrated British courtesan, and the restaurant has been designed to reflect the glamour of her life.
George Barson, who has been head chef at Kitty Fisher's for the past 18 months, will head up both sites as executive chef. The menu has British and French influences and offers its own interpretation of theatreland food.
The restaurant is set over two floors of a historic townhouse and features parquet flooring, dark textiles, ferns, upholstered wall panels, tarnished mirrors and vintage lights. The ground floor will host the main dining room, with double-height windows opening onto St Paul's church and garden. The lower-ground floor houses the open kitchen and an intimate cocktail bar with a late licence.
