The four-AA-starred Murrayshall hotel in Perth has been given the green light to add 25 holiday lodges as well as a luxury spa and leisure facilities to its country estate and golf course.
New leisure facilities will include a 27,000 sq ft spa with eight treatment rooms and two restaurants as well as a state-of-the-art gym and swimming pools.
The estate has already seen a £5m investment in the past five years to upgrade the accommodation, golf course and hospitality services.
General manager Gary Silcock said: “Today provides a major step forward for Murrayshall. Since Stellar Asset Management took ownership in 2016, we have been dedicated to enhancing the estate’s offerings.
“The approval of 25 holiday lodges and a new leisure club and spa represents a turning point. These facilities are designed not only for our guests but also for the local community, as we shift Murrayshall away from seasonal trends and towards year-round membership engagement.”
The hotel and estate has said the investment will create up to 400 new jobs.
A campaign group had earlier raised concerns about the development plans for the hotel.
