Accor's first Mama Shelter-branded hotel in the UK is taking room reservations from 1 September.
The 195-bedroom Mama London hotel in Shoreditch takes the place of the former RE hotel following a refurbishment overseen by Dion & Arles. The property, built in 2008, was previously unbranded and family-owned and had 178 bedrooms.
Mama Shelter was established by Serge Trigano and his sons Benjamin and Jeremie in Paris nearly 10 years ago. Accor acquired a 35% stake in the business in 2014.
An affiliate of Crosstree Real Estate Partners acquired the RE hotel and signed agreements with the French designer-budget boutique hotel operator to manage and brand the property with its signature design-led interiors, modern bars and trendy restaurants. The London property is also set to have its own karaoke room.
Accor operates nine Mama Shelters, with two more properties set to open in France this year: Lille in August and Paris in November.
