Colliers said the 22-room hotel generated “significant revenue and profits”.
Applegarth Villa, the luxury hotel in Windermere in the Lake District, has been put up for sale for just under £4m.
Colliers has been appointed to sell the hotel, which it said generated “significant revenue and profits”.
Applegarth Villa has 22 individually-designed bedrooms and suites, seven of which have balconies and hot tubs.
Its public areas include an AA rosette-winning restaurant, oak-panelled bar with a whisky collection, adjoining brasserie and sun terrace.
The hotel, which is currently run by management, is spread across three separate buildings.
These include the main building with a reception, bar, restaurant, commercial kitchen and 15 individually-tailored letting bedrooms.
The stable block running alongside the main hotel features seven suites with balconies and hot tubs, and there is also a two-bedroom managers’ bungalow which has planning permission to be converted into two additional suites.
Julian Troup, head of UK hotels agency at Colliers, said: “Applegarth Villa is a renowned luxury hotel that is presented to the market in superb order. The business is currently run under management and is already well established but still offers a great deal of scope to enhance the existing operation, making it an ideal asset for a discerning buyer.
“The Lake District attracts more interest for us than any other UK region, and we anticipate a healthy appetite in this superior opportunity.”
