He will take over from Francisco Macedo, who is shifting focus to the international arm of Iconic Luxury Hotels.
Gaius Wyncoll has been appointed as the new general manager at Cliveden House in Berkshire.
He will join the hotel in February from the role of resort general manager at the Manor House Hotel & Spa at Castle Coombe, which is part of the Exclusive Collection.
Wyncoll will take over at Cliveden from 2023 Catey winner Francisco Macedo, who is shifting his focus to the expansion of the international arm of Cliveden’s parent company Iconic Luxury Hotels.
It follows the launch of the group’s first US property, Palm House in Miami, in late 2024.
Macedo had been general manager at Cliveden House for the past six and a half years and was also group operations director for Iconic Luxury Hotels.
Wyncoll has spent the past 10 years working for Exclusive Collection after joining as general manager at Lainston House in Hampshire.

Andrew Stembridge said: “We are delighted to welcome Gaius to the Iconic Family, and I am confident that his strong leadership, excellent hospitality track record and proven understanding of the complexity involved in successfully operating historic properties, will allow him to continue to build on the incredible track record of his predecessor of this remarkable property, Francisco Macedo.
“Moving forward Francisco will be focusing all of his attention on Iconic Luxury Hotels – International and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Francisco for his phenomenal efforts over the past six and a half years at Cliveden and, in more recent years, also as operations director for the UK’s ILH collection.”

Wyncoll said: “Cliveden has always stood out to me as one of the UK’s most distinguished country houses, renowned for its rich history, breathtaking grounds and unparalleled reputation for excellence.
