The hotel is in the midst of a major £80m expansion project.
Katie Niland has been promoted to commercial director at the Belfry Hotel and Resort in Sutton Coldfield.
In her new role, she will lead the resort through the next phase of its £80m expansion project.
Niland has spent the last 10 years as sales director at the Belfry and will now drive strategy across the venue’s sales, revenue, resort desk and marketing teams.
Her promotion comes ahead of the launch of the 825 sq m Masters Suite, the Belfry’s biggest events space yet, in September 2025. It is currently under construction, alongside a new Leisure Club with gym, pool and hot tubs, and a 150-cover extension of the hotel’s two-AA-rosette Ryder Grill restaurant.
Niland said: “It’s such an exciting time for the Belfry, so becoming commercial director is an incredible opportunity. I have a fantastic team around me and, together, I know there will be no limit to what we can achieve.
“As we cement the Belfry’s reputation as a word-class leisure and events destination, I’m energised for the task ahead and excited by its potential.”
A refurbishment of the Belfry’s existing bedrooms has already been completed, alongside the construction of two new outdoor events spaces and a bar and lobby.
The redevelopment has been in the works since Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Cedar Capital Partners bought the Belfry in 2021.
The resort was previously owned by private equity firm KSL for almost a decade.
