Jay Burgesson-Carter has been appointed director at Bovingdons catering, joining from premium event caterer Food Show, where he spent three years as commercial director and 18 months as managing director.
Burgesson-Carter will join the Bovingdons senior management team and will oversee all sales teams and exclusive and non-exclusive venue relationships.
South-east based Bovingdons runs seven cafés/restaurants and delivers more than 400 events a year. The group recently won catering contracts with Butchers’ Hall and the Museum of London Docklands.
Burgesson-Carter said: “I see Bovingdons as a great disruptor for the catering industry, having grown a portfolio of fixed site venues from three to nine in less than four years. The company has had great success winning exclusive contracts, recently purchasing a high street café brand, while the fact it has retained all its staff during the pandemic is encouraging and illustrates a very exciting next chapter for the company.”
Frans Kobus, managing director of Bovingdons, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jay to the Bovingdons family. Jay is one of hospitality's naturals, with a flair for innovation and a drive for perfection. We look forward to seeing him stamp his creativity and events industry experience upon a company that is already so full of charm and character.”
