James Sommerin 'completely devastated' as he confirms closure of Michelin-starred restaurant

James Sommerin has said he and his family were "completely devastated" as he confirmed the closure of his Michelin-starred restaurant.

Restaurant James Sommerin, in the Vale of Glamorgan, had opened in 2014 and gained its Michelin star in the 2017 Guide.

News of the closure of the restaurant at its current site emerged earlier this week when Wales Online reported that signs had been taken down.

Yesterday Sommerin said "as a family we're completely devastated about the closure". He added: "We never intended for this to happen and with six years of us building something we were so proud of, to have it taken away, through no fault of our own, it's really hard to put into words."

Sommerin asked those with vouchers to bear with the family as they wait for updates.
