More than 300 suppliers will be touting their wares at Birmingham's NEC between 24 and 26 January 2011. Product Zone previews some of the new lines that will be on view at Hospitality 2011.

Cesa Innovation Zone - Stand 562
Eau de Vie - a branded, eco-friendly bottled water package -makes its debut in Birmingham next month. It allows operators to bottle their own fresh still or sparkling filtered water on-site and is based around a SilverSix filtering system that removes the impurities that affect the flavour and smell of mains water before it is chilled. The package includes front-of-house water dispensers, bottles and flasks and backroom wash racks, carriers and rack dollies.
CLIFTON FOOD RANGE

Kitchens with limited space are the target customers for a variation on Clifton's popular 28-litre capacity sous-vide bath, which places the controls on the narrow end to reduce its counter-top footprint to just 350mm in width. The new version uses the same accurate temperature-control systems and comes with a stainless-steel tray, a front-positioned drain tap and an easy-grab, lift-off lid.

The world's first pass-through corner rack washer, a money-saving hood washer and the latest Lainox Heart X specification combi-oven take pride of place on the Dawson stand. The two Comenda Eco 2 washers include the fully-automated AC2A corner rack conveyor washer, which can wash up to 1,800 dishes an hour in a small footprint of just 1,250mm x 1,250mm x 1,430mm (H).The steam condenser and heat recovery system built into the Comenda LC411CRC hood washer can slash 11%, or up to £262, off annual energy bills, as well as reduce water use by 50%, rinse aid volumes by 16% and detergent consumption by 12%.
ECOPURE WATERS

EcoPure, which has been supplying water filtration systems to the hospitality industry for 19 years, will launch One Green Bottle, the first consumer-branded sustainable drinking water that can be produced in-house. The reusable bottles, available in various sizes, are made from 50% reusable glass and are designed to help restore revenue lost to the current trend for drinking tap water. Tap water is purified by EcoPure's seven-stage filtration system, which involves natural earth ceramic filters and UV light, and can be served in still or sparkling formats.

Newcomers on the Equip Line stand include the low-level MD60 three-shelf hot food merchandiser - a squat, 600mm-wide version of the model it sells to Pret a Manger and Greggs, for premises that cannot accommodate the full-size cabinet. It offers an optional top-mounted purchase well for ambient impulse snacks and a bottom drawer to hold drinks, condiments or serviettes. Also new is Polyscience's SousVide Professional heater-circulator which clamps to any size of tank to heat and stir up to 30 litres of water and hold it at a set temperature, accurate to within one-tenth of a degree.

The German knife specialist will showcase the line of highly-flexible ham knives it launched last month. The long, sharp knives with specially polished edges - available in 28cm and 25cm lengths - are designed to lie directly on the bone so even novices can cut wafer-thin slices. They are available in three types - high-quality forged Premier Plus models, stamped-out Superior models, and economical ProDynamic models with solid plastic handles.

Leading Spanish supplier Infrico launched into the UK earlier this year with the aim of targeting the medium-high end of the market with better quality, greener machines at more competitive prices. Its products are made from AISI 304 stainless steel to eliminate odour retention and bacterial build up and the line-up encompasses bottle coolers, refrigerated tables, upright fridges and freezers, display cabinets and bespoke cool rooms. Exhibits will include the dual-purpose Infrico Blast Chiller (see equipment on page 106) and the modular Aries line of showcases for pastries and cakes, breads, chocolates and sweets, ice-creams or hot foods - the latter with an integrated bain-marie.

"Fun food" products from Paragon that have just joined JM Posner's Made in America line will get their first UK airing in Birmingham next month. They include the Dog Hut Hotdog Steamer and the Spin Magic Cotton Candy Machine - with a separate protective roll top bubble - that can spin out 200 servings per hour. The new Deluxe Contempo Pop 4oz Popcorn Maker will make 92 x 1oz servings per hour and is backed by a range of kernels, bags and boxes as well as a collapsible Popcorn Cart.

Standex will launch a new range of roast-and-hold ovens from sister company Bevles that have a roasting cycle of up to 16 hours and a temperature range between 63°C and 118°C. Available in full size, half size and under-counter versions in 864mm or 1,092mm widths, the ovens can be configured to hold standard GN pans or a variety of sheets and pans. They feature a top-mounted heating element, a pass-through feature that loads raw food from the rear and cooked food from the front; and an optional 8.5-litre humidity system.

The NEC will provide the first airing of Vivreau's new Mini Bottler, a cut-down version of its in-house V3 Table Water Bottling System for venues that require smaller volumes of purified, chilled water. The Mini Bottler can produce up to 80 litres of still or sparkling water per hour which is served in Vivreau's carafe-style 425ml and 750ml designer bottles. Its frosted blue facia and LED lighting make it suitable for front-of-house use, but an under-counter version is also available.

Star of the stand will be the new Prowrap Premium range of clingfilm and aluminium foil which is described as a "commercial kitchen heavyweight". The new line is thicker and stronger than standard films and foils, easier to handle and less prone to tearing or scrunching on the roll. The artisan bakery will showcase its new individual luxury Panettones, a thaw-and-serve bread/cake cross made to a traditional Italian recipe with sultanas and citrus peel and sold in cases of 20 x 100g. The show will also provide first-time exposure of its line of authentic Danish pastries, made exclusively for the group by the Naked Danish Company, which bake from frozen in 18 minutes. They include Vanilla Cream and Apricot Crowns, Maple Pecan and Black Cherry Plaits, Cinnamon Whirls, Apple Crunches and Danish Long Boats. The pastries use Mette Munk real fruit fillings of fresh, uncooked fruits mixed with sugar.

The new lighting catalogue - which includes many collections exclusive to Andy Thornton - will figure prominently on the stand and include a new line of hotel lighting for guest rooms, bathrooms and public areas. The group has recently made its entire range of interior lighting available to buy online. Alongside popular furniture lines such as the Lina side chair and Gloria armchair, Andy Thornton will also be launching its new Stylus table base from Pedrali. This minimalist-style table with a slim centre column and round-cornered square base is designed for bars, bistros, cafés and coffee shops.

This South African company has been supplying bespoke, hand-painted tablecloths that require no laundering to restaurants around the world for 13 years and has now launched into the UK market. Designs by artist Carmel Stoch are painted on to 100% raw bull denim cotton, which is then given a stain- and liquid-resistant coating, so the cloths only need to be wiped down to clean. The company's "functional art" also extends to placemats, runners, overlays, chair cushions and aprons.

Box Hospitality will demonstrate its latest electronic point-of-sale (EPoS) systems for the hospitality industry. They include the Toshiba ST-A10 TouchPOS, a rugged, fully-featured EPoS terminal with an ultra-small footprint that won the Good Design Award in Japan. It will partner the new Epson TM-T88V, the first POS thermal printer to be Energy Star-qualified, which is promised to be faster and more reliable than preceding models. Box Hospitality uses Maitre ‘D POS software from Posera to integrate EPoS, back office and corporate functions.
