The chef posted a video urging people to wear a helmet at all times.
Chef Gordon Ramsay has revealed he is “lucky to be here” after he survived a “really bad” cycling accident in Connecticut.
During a short video message on X, Ramsay pulled up his chef’s whites to show purple bruising over his torso.
He said: “You know how much I love cycling and triathlons and Iron Man. This week, I had a really bad accident and it really shook me and honestly, I’m lucky to be here.”
“I’m in pain, it’s been a brutal week, but I’m getting through it. I can’t tell you the importance of wearing a helmet. Please, please, please wear a helmet, because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t be here now.”
The chef also wished everyone a Happy Father’s Day and thanked all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London.
