To recognise the continued importance of sustainable business practices, The Caterer is launching two new categories in the Cateys’ Sustainable Business Award
With more and more operators investing time and resources into improving sustainable initiatives and practices, The Caterer is excited to announce the launch of two new categories in its Sustainable Business Award Catey.
Living in an age of fast-evolving climate change brings a host of new challenges for hospitality businesses to consider. But those challenges, and the solutions to meet those challenges, hugely vary depending on the size and scope of the business.
That is why The Caterer has launched two new Catey awards: one for businesses with an annual turnover of more than £20m (the Sustainable Business Award), and the other for businesses with an annual turnover of less than £20m, (called the Sustainable Business Award (SME)).
The two new awards, which are open to any hotel, restaurant, pub, leisure or foodservice business or other hospitality operation, recognises those companies that have taken the most innovative steps to minimise their impact on the environment while contributing to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
Caroline Baldwin, deputy editor at The Caterer, said: “Over the past few years we have been delighted to see an ever-increasing number of entries to the Sustainable Business Award. And judges have enjoyed deliberating over more and more hospitality businesses all going above and beyond to do their bit for the environment.
“This year, for the first time, we are splitting the award in two based on annual turnover to give all the fantastic companies working so hard on their sustainable initiatives an even greater chance of being celebrated on the night at Grosvenor House. “
